How can we help you? We promote showcase nights for unsigned bands in mainly Cardiff, we sometimes use venues in Blackwood, Newport and Bridgend. We encourage all bands of all genres to play these venues. We’re not here to compete with the likes of Barfly who often have signed artists playing their venue, so please do not compare us to them.

Formed in the spring of 2001 Group Sounds are a maverick gang of music-lovers. With a strict policy of staging affordable gigs and putting quality music before profit GS shows always attract an appreciative and enthusiastic audience (let it be known that there is no standing at the back, arms-folded at a Group Sounds show!)

Group Sounds shows take place every month, usually at the Louisiana, which is a cosy venue with an inhouse P.A. and engineer, last year both The Strokes and White Stripes stopped by.

Because GS gigs only happen once a month we make sure we only put on really good bands. Over the past year have built up quite a reputation for this, so although some people won't recognise some of the bands we put on they will at the same time know from past gigs that they are guaranteed something special.

We are kinda picky with what we put on but it covers a wide range of styles and genres. As long as your band are not nu-metal, sports metal or the New New Wave of Heavy Metal then I'm sure you're be alright.

Previous bands that have played GS include: Mclusky, Martini Henry Rifles, El Goodo, Sammo Hung, Cubare, The Loves, Rocketgoldstar, Eeeblee, Ivory Springer, Angel Tech, Dustball and Six By Seven.
